THOUSANDS of homes were without power on Tuesday night as wild weather caused blackouts across the Wimmera.

A Powercor spokesman said the blackouts impacted 5947 customers in Horsham for a little under an hour.
He said thelightning strikes in the region caused the issues.
Elsewhere in the area, 1191 customers in Donald and Charlton lost electricity for an hour and a half.
Some homes in Murtoa North have been without power since 5am, with 27 customers affected.
