A GROUP of Horsham friends saw a photo of a floating picnic table on Facebook and thought they could do it better.

So they did.
Liam Niewand, Ben Hobbs, Tyler McRae, Will Burgess and Alex Bryan built their vessel on Monday and Tuesday last week.
Mr Niewand said the group made some improvements to the original model, including an umbrella, a recessed esky and gym mats to provide padding on the seats.
“For the next stage we’re looking at putting an electric motor on it,” he said.
Mr Niewand said the initiative had generated plenty of interest on Facebook and photo-sharing app Instagram.
“The photo got a lot of likes and all the boys at work got around it,” he said.
He said the group took the creation for a test run on the Wimmera River last week before taking it on a road trip to the Glenelg River at the weekend.
