RAINBOW and district residents will have a chance to sign up for an eHealth record at the Rainbow Community Pharmacy on Wednesday.
The pharmacy will host the session in conjunction with Grampians Medicare Local.
It is the first pharmacy-assisted eHealth record sign-up in the Wimmera and Grampians regions.
An eHealth record is a secure online summary of health information that allows doctors, hospitals, pharmacists and other healthcare providers to view important healthcare information when required.
Grampians Medicare Local chief executive Andrew McPherson said having an eHealth record could make getting medical treatment faster, safer and easier because all healthcare providers had access to the same information.
“This is a great opportunity for residents of Rainbow,” he said.
Rainbow Community Pharmacy pharmacist Wendy Boyley also said it was a great initiative.
“It’s going to be easier for both people and their carers because they don’t need to recall all of their health information or carry it with them all the time,” she said.
The session will run from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
