WHILE success eludes many triathletes for their whole careers, Horsham’s Kelly Miller has won a triathlon at just her second attempt.
Miller was the female winner at Saturday’s Horsham Triathlon, taking it out despite doing no dedicated training for the event.
It was just the second triathlon Miller had entered in her life, with the first coming three years ago.

Miller beat female runner-up Hayley Collins by nearly two minutes, and was 19th overall in the combined male and female field.
She said she had always loved fitness, but triathlons were still largely new to her.
“It was pretty tough for me in the river because I had never swum in it with a lot of people before so that was probably the toughest for me,” she said.
“I haven’t had a lot of experience coming off the bike and into the run so my legs felt a bit like jelly, but I was happy with how I went.
“I’m an instructor at the YMCA so I do some group fitness classes and I do a bit of running and swim during the week so my general fitness got me over the line in the end.”
Miller said she maintained her fitness even with a young family to take care of, completing a marathon in October just months after the birth of her third child.
Daughter Sienna followed in Miller’s footsteps on Saturday, competing in the junior triathlon.
Miller said she had thoroughly enjoyed her triathlon experience.
“It was a great atmosphere around the course and it was really well organised, so I really enjoyed myself out there,” she said.
