The woman, who wished to speak anonymously, said she heard an ‘almighty crash’ about 11.15pm on Friday.
“I had just gotten into bed,” she said.
“I said to my husband, ‘that sounds like it hit our fence’.
“This clown had come out of Wawunna Road at speed, and lost control when they turned into Wavell Street.”
She said the car careered off the road, narrowly missing the power pole on her nature strip and continued through her fence.
“Then it went into our shed, taking down the spouting and the down pipe, and knocking the shadow board clear off the inside,” she said.
The tools dislodged from the board.
“It completely destroyed a large aluminium ladder,” the woman said.
Before she and her husband had a chance to inspect the damage, the person responsible drove away.
“Don’t ask me how they managed it,” the woman said.
“There has been no sign of the car, or the person, since.”
They left one clue – the front grill from the car, which became stuck in rubble in the shed.
“Police took it to the wreckers and identified what type of vehicle it was likely to have come off,” she said.
“The power pole is right in front of our shed.
“If the car had taken it out, it could have landed anywhere.
“One of our neighbours had just come out of the shower, and took to the street in his jocks to see if he could see this idiot.”
But she said her friend’s efforts were wasted.
“All they could see were the car’s tail-lights,” she said.
The Horsham resident is investigating funding options to repair the damage.
She urged anybody with information to call Horsham Police Station on 5382 9200.
