The best eight-ball pool players from associations across Victoria compete at the cup each year, with teams from Ballarat, Mildura, Warrnambool, Bendigo and host city Geelong.
Wimmera teams will include Dimboola, Stawell and Ararat.
There are four divisions at the cup, which works in a promotion-relegation format.
Teams that win in their division are promoted, while teams that struggle are dropped to a lower division.
Horsham is sending a team in division two and one in division three.
Horsham Eight Ball Association division three team captain John Walker said the two Horsham sides were looking forward to competing at the cup once again.
“It’s usually a good weekend and we always enjoy it,” he said.
“My team – going back about three years ago when it was in Colac – played through to the grand final and won it, which puts you up into the next division.
“We’ve had success there in the past and the other team was in division one but dropped down to division two a few years ago so they’re trying to get back to division one.”
Walker said there would be six rounds of play tomorrow and three on Sunday before finals.
He said his team had a good chance to compete in division three.
“We’ve probably got a chance of going up this year, but unfortunately some of the normal players for the division two side can’t go this year,” he said.
“We both go there playing to win and I think both teams have reasonable chances of staying in their divisions or playing in the finals.”
