Alexander, who has coached the Diamonds since mid-2011, will run a coaches clinic in the morning and speak at a function in the evening.
The event will be the week before the Wimmera netball season kicks off on April 12.
The association’s events co-ordinator Gayle Leith said it was exciting to have a coach of Alexander’s calibre visit the region.
“We’re very lucky to get her,” she said.
“I’ve been to a few sessions with her in Melbourne and she’s just brilliant.”
Leith said she hoped Alexander’s visit would benefit a large number of people.
“We are going to have a coaches clinic at St Brigid’s College in Horsham from 10am,” she said.
“She’ll run a 90-minute clinic with some of the latest drills.
“We’re also going to have her as a speaker at an event at Wesley Performing Arts Centre that night to give an insight into coaching the Diamonds.”
This is the second year the association has hosted a season launch.
Diamonds legend Sharelle McMahon was the special guest at last year’s launch. Leith said she hoped coaches and players would turn out in force this year.
“Hopefully all coaches can attend – it’s a great chance to learn from one of the best,” she said.
“We’re hoping to get club coaches, but it’s open to any coaches and players can come and observe as well.”
Leith said doors would open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start for the function, with a number of other activities taking place including question time with the Australian coach, a fashion show and a raffle.
“Last year it was a great success and it should be a really good night this year again,” she said.
Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children 16 years and under.
Leith said people could call her on 0427 993 560 for more information.
