The club is hoping to replace its old sprinkler system which is more than 30 years old with a new set.
But it will not come cheaply, with one individual sprinkler costing $200.
Horsham Golf Club spokesman Greg Magor estimated there were about 10 sprinklers on each fairway, meaning the club faced a big fund-raising effort to replace them all.
"Each year we're going to run an event dedicated purely to raising money for new sprinklers, and this is the first one we're doing," he said.
"All the money we raise will go directly towards buying the new sprinklers so we're really calling on members to put their hand up."
Scott Petroleum will sponsor the competition, with fuel vouchers totalling $700 up for grabs.
Magor said entries for the event were still open.
He said those interested in registering for the tournament could call him on 0417355927.
