The experienced coach will aim for a return to the winners list in his second year at the helm when the 'Big W' takes on North Central Football League on May 24.
"Any time you get to represent your league, it's an honour," Dalziel said.
"We certainly want to go out and have a win it's been a while since we've had a win."
"I think everything we did last year was done well and now we want to build on it.
"Last year we competed really well but we fell short."
The Wimmera side lost by 12 points last year to Casey Cardinia and was ranked 17th in the Victorian Country Football League rankings when this year's fixtures were announced in December.
Dalziel said he believed the quality of the players in the Wimmera league did not give a true reflection of where the league was ranked.
"The main thing we want to get across is the league is well down in the rankings, and the way we perform in this game will reflect how we are seen," he said.
"We're probably a better league than where we sit in the rankings, but I suppose until we win a game people can beg to differ."
Dalziel said last year's Wimmera representatives would be determined to make their mark this year.
"The guys we had last year were disappointed with the loss, so redemption for them will be paramount," he said.
"They were hurting, so that's a good sign."
He said a number of players had already expressed their interest in getting involved this season.
