Chief executive Catherine Morley said she believed the open access meeting at the health service's Hopetoun campus would be of great benefit to board and community members.
Until now, annual general meetings have been the health service's only public board proceedings.
"So the March meeting will provide a whole new perspective on how much is involved in the running of a health service," Ms Morley said.
"Hopefully the community will be able to gain an understanding of the rationale, context and environment for the important plans and decisions that our board has to make every month.
"The public will have an opportunity to discuss and participate in the board of management's decision-making process."
The meeting agenda includes an update on the National Standards continuous improvement activities, the Community Action Research Group governance meeting, and an update on the stage two work at the Warracknabeal campus.
Representatives from the Wimmera Southern Mallee Health Alliance, Yarriambiack Shire Council, Ambulance Victoria and Wimmera Development Association have also been invited to attend the meeting tomorrow.
"It's all about improving transparency, accountability and consumer engagement," Ms Morley said.
The meeting starts at 5pm, breaking for a barbecue meal at 6pm, and recommencing at 7pm.
Ms Morley said people wishing to attend should register their interest with executive assistant Sharon Murphy on 5396 1221.
