Edenhope-Apsley v Noradjuha-Quantong
Ground: Edenhope Showground, Saturday, 2pm.
Umpires: J. Brand and P. Mellington.
Last time they met: Round 15, 2013. Edenhope-Apsley 20.15 (135) d Noradjuha-Quantong 7.9 (51).
EDENHOPE-APSLEY will welcome Brendan Fevola for its round one clash against Noradjuha-Quantong, with the hope the star full-forward puts on a show.
The former Carlton and Brisbane AFL player and two-time Coleman medallist will fly into Edenhope on Saturday morning for the game.
The Bombers will have to contend not only with Fevola, but a long list of outs.
Shane Oakley, ankle, Jordan Huff, ankle, Dustin Cross, knee, and Tory Chapple, finger, will all be missing from the Noradjuha-Quantong line-up.
The Bombers will field a team full of fresh faces, with Nick Adamson, Alex Ross, Nathan Byrne, Jarred Crabtree, Heath Watson, Brian Harrison, Zane Mitton, and Adam Jolley all included.
Coach Jarred Combe said it was great to see so many recruits at the club.
“It’s going to take us a few weeks before we get the feel of things team-wise and learn which players are best suited to which positions, but hopefully we can settle that sooner rather than later.”
Combe said the ‘Fev factor’ would make the match a difficult one for his side, but believed it was still capable of emerging with a win.
Edenhope-Apsley coach Grant Coxon was unavailable for comment.
