Mrs Barnes’ winning submission will be used as the league’s official logo.
The competition was staged after the merger between the Horsham District Football League and Horsham District Netball Association, meaning neither of the old logos could be used.
As winner of the competition, Mrs Barnes received two Horsham District Football Netball League season passes and an official match day football and netball.
Mrs Barnes said she was thrilled to win the competition.
“I grew up in the district league with football and netball, and I’m just really stoked that it’s been chosen,” she said.
Mrs Barnes said the main things she kept in mind when designing the logo were to keep it simple and recognisable.
“I thought of the balls involved in the game – the football and the netball – and looked at ways they could be incorporated to make a simple logo,” she said.
“I just played around with different ways I could have them until I found one that blended them together nicely.
“I also had a thought of each team within the league using the logo as well and changing it to their team colours so it could be interchanged and used within the league that way.”
Leah Dumesny submitted a design that was judged runner-up, and will be used as an official league letterhead.
She will receive one season pass.
