Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said the NSW man, 50, was found safe and well about midday on Monday.
The search began on Sunday afternoon.
The alarm was raised about 1pm after a bush walker made contact with Parks Victoria seeking directions back to a walking track.
Victoria Police's Search and Rescue Squad led the search, assisted by the police air wing, uniformed members from the Grampians district, the State Emergency Service and Parks Victoria.
