Fire-fighter Ray Carman said 11 trucks would transport ‘tin rattlers’ throughout Horsham and its outskirts, collecting money for the appeal from 9am.
Previously the highest number of trucks was five or six.
Mr Carman said Vectis and Jung would both supply a truck for the first time.
He hoped about 60 tin rattlers would donate their time.
“It’s a really big day for us,’’ he said. “People want to get involved and progressively it gets bigger and bigger.
“We’re just rapt with the response.’’
Mr Carman said Horsham Fire Brigade aimed to raise $25,000, a similar total to last year.
He said along with Horsham, the trucks would visit Haven, Riverside and River Heights.
Sirens would signal their approach.
Mr Carman said people could then go outside and donate.
If people missed the collection they could call 5382 6870 and a volunteer would visit them.
Good Friday Appeal area manager June Clissold said volunteers would also man Horsham traffic lights in Baillie Street, Dimboola Road and Wilson Street.
She said Horsham Safeway had already raised more than $20,000 for the appeal and other fundraising efforts had raised about $10,000.
But she said people would need to support the cause to get close to last year’s total of $67,000.
