ARARAT veteran Marcus Cooper finished second in heat two of the 100-metre Hank Neil Veterans’ Handicap, qualifying for the semi-finals in the process.

Cooper, who finished in a time of 11.381, was running off a handicap of 3.25 metres.
The eleven heat qualifiers all qualified for the next round, as did the next fastest 13 finishers.
