Dimboola Memorial Secondary College principal Rob Pyers has committed to the role for the next two terms.
Mr Pyers has been principal at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College for the past seven years.
He previously taught at schools in Melton and Craigieburn.
Mr Pyers said he was enthusiastic about the acting principal position.
He said it was a good opportunity for him.
"It is also a good opportunity for the staff at Dimboola to take on other positions," he said.
Mr Pyers said he wanted to move the college forward.
Horsham College will receive $10 million from the State Government to rebuild the school in the state budget next month.
"I have taken this role at a great time and it is worth acknowledging the school's former leaders, council and the community," Mr Pyers said.
"We can have an impact on the education offered here at Horsham."
Mr Pyers replaces Graeme Holmes, who was acting principal at Horsham College in term one.
Stuart Kuhnell is the new acting principal at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
