ST ARNAUD’S undefeated start to the season has continued with another come-from-behind victory – this time against Wycheproof-Narraport on Saturday.
The Saints trailed the Demons at every change at St Arnaud before over-running them in the final term – just as they did against Birchip-Watchem in round two.
Saint Daniel Needs continued his outstanding start to the season, slotting seven majors, as the home side kicked six goals to three in the final term to win by 11 points – 11.13 (79) to 9.14 (68).
Andrew Jesse was named the Saints’ best, while Jobastin Priest earned his third mention in as many games.
At Donald, Boort secured its first win for the season with a 79-point thumping of the winless Royal Blues.
The home side could only manage one goal in the first three terms as the Magpies kicked further ahead at the first three changes.
Former Essendon AFL player Andrew Welsh was named among the Magpies’ best with three goals, while Nathan Witherow was named the Royal Blues’ best player.
Charlton secured back-to-back victories with an 80-point thrashing of Birchip-Watchem at home.
Tom Finlay slotted eight goals and Joe McGrath five in the Navy Blues’ 26.11 (167) to 13.9 (87) win, while Bull Dan Castellano produced another four-goal haul.
