The pair were Little Athletics Victoria state team vice-captains at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Melbourne on Saturday.
The championships comprised the Australian Multi-Event Championships – which Bush and Edgerton competed in – and the Australian Teams Championships for under-13 athletes.
Bush won a silver medal as the second-highest overall female athlete at the championships, behind Western Australia’s Ashlee Hardisty.
She finished ahead of long-time rival and Victorian team-mate Celeste Mucci, who defeated her in several events at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in March.
Edgerton also had reason to be proud, finishing fifth in a field of 13 of the best under-15 male athletes in the country.
Together with Mucci and Michael Cann the pair led Victoria to an overall team win.
Bush got an early victory in the long jump – one of her best events.
She reversed the result from the Australian junior championships by narrowly edging out Mucci by two centimetres with a 5.38-metre jump.
She came third in the 100-metre sprint with a time of 12.61 seconds.
A second-place finish in the 90-metre hurdles followed, and Bush finished 10th in discus despite throwing near her personal best.
Edgerton finished second in the boys long jump with a 6.21-metre leap, but was well beaten by Cann, who jumped 6.84 metres.
He finished fourth in the 100-metre event – just 0.04 of a second outside the top three.
The 100-metre hurdles proved to be his downfall, as he finished 12th out of 13 competitors.
He recovered to place fourth in the 800 metres and seventh in discus.
The final race was a mixed four-by-100-metre sprint, which Victoria won easily in 46.38 seconds to seal its overall victory.
Horsham athletics coach Ricky Price said Bush and Edgerton had done the Wimmera proud.
“It was good for Anna to beat Celeste after she kept finishing second to her earlier this year,” he said.
“A silver medal is an excellent result, and Andrew did well also to finish fifth overall.”
It was the final Little Athletics event for both Bush and Edgerton.
