Dank, who has come under the spotlight for his involvement in the Essendon AFL and Cronulla Sharks NRL supplements scandals, will be joined by former AFL footballers Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson and Peter Bosustow.
Commercial Hotel owner Strato Makris said he expected it to be a big night.
“It should be a great night and there will be entertainment after that as well,” he said.
“Mark’s a very exciting guy to listen to and so is Peter Bosustow.
“We expect there won’t be one disappointed person here.”
Mr Makris said he expected Dank to be badgered – with crowd members having the chance to ask questions.
The trio spoke at Ballarat’s Bunch of Grapes Hotel on Friday night, with The Courier reporting Dank maintained he ‘only did what he was allowed to do’ at the Bombers and that legally he could not comment on Essendon specifics at the ‘sportsmen’s night’ style event.
Dank was delivered a ‘show cause’ notice by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority in March, but maintains he will only fight ASADA charges in Federal Court.
Jackson, who is promoting the regional tour, told The Courier he had taken Dank on the tour so people could make up their own minds.
“AFL media I wouldn’t say have a good grasp on football and football stories,” he said.
“Football people are ready to hear his story now, coming from the horse’s mouth.
“Steve is a very intellectual doctor – not a pig farmer like some headlines had him.”
Tickets are limited and cost $60 a person, which includes a two-course meal.
Mr Makris said people could call him on 0407 915 933 for tickets or more information.
