Eight races on the card have been named in honour of the Warracknabeal brothers.
Club president Lance Huebner said the tribute had been planned for a number of months.
“We thought rather than give them one race, we’d give them most of the races on the program.
“A lot of their family, former jockeys and people who worked for Ian and Tren are coming back for the meeting.”
Races will be named after the brothers’ most successful five horses – Ian’s High Ratio and Harjan, and Tren’s Prince Camillo, Light Fingers and Red Handed.
Huebner said the club was extremely pleased with the interest in the meeting.
“We’ve got excellent numbers – it’s a 10-race program and our first mid-week meeting for more than three years,” he said.
“It just shows that in the eyes of the racing fraternity and the trainers we’re still really popular.”
The meeting has attracted trainers from the Wimmera and beyond.
The first race is set to jump at 11.20am, with the final race to be run at 4.30pm.
Entry is free.
