The Falcons recorded a 4-2 triumph over Sebastopol at St Georges Park, Sebastopol, on Sunday afternoon.

With the visitors leading just 1-0 at half-time after having a number of golden opportunities, the home side turned the tables after the break to claim a 2-1 advantage.

But the Falcons replied to level the scores, before a lofted Jake Hinton shot from outside the box restored the visitors' advantage, and a fourth and final goal made certain of the result.

Falcons coach Mick Clark said the youthful side's hard work was starting to pay dividends in terms of getting on-field results.

"We've got about four or five young ones about 16 years old and I think we've probably had about 60 to 70 per cent of the play in every game," he said.

"They're just starting to play to our system and structure and doing the right things.

"It was a good game - let's hope we're starting to build."

Ethan Gebert hit the back of the net for the sixth time this season, while Lewis Gebert and Ben Rowan also featured on the scoresheet.

Clark praised the work of winger Lachie Rowan, keeper Nick Bamford who made a number of important saves, and right-back Ebby Njoku who provided run out of defence.

The result sees the Falcons leapfrog the Vikings into sixth spot on the ladder - just one win away from a top four berth.

The Falcons' under-15s could not achieve the same feat despite playing well, losing 5-1 to North United Black at Morshead Park, Ballarat.
