FINALS are not at the forefront of Rupanyup or Taylors Lake’s minds, but wins are always welcome.
The sides sit ninth and eighth respectively, with one win each for the year.
Both have battled injuries and form fluctuations, and have at times failed to capitalise on opportunities.
Taylors Lake coach Deek Roberts said Saturday's game was vitally important to his team and the club, despite the Lakers’ lowly ladder position.
“I reckon the past three weeks have seen the best footy we’ve played this year, and it would be nice to get something for the group to know we’re going in the right direction,” he said.
Lachie Marks will be included after illness kept him out at the weekend.
The Lakers are hopeful Dylan Carroll and Dean Harberger will be fit to play.
Rupanyup coach Mick Finnigan said his side was also waiting to hear whether Scott Niewand and Nathan Sachse would be available.
He said the Panthers would also strive to earn their second win of the season.
“We’re probably fairly similar sides, so hopefully we get past the post with a good performance all over the ground,” he said.
“We need to kick more goals, and we need a forward who can convert four or five goals on a consistent basis.”
Finnigan said he hoped the home crowd would lift the Panthers across the line.
