The Victorian Education Excellence Awards were on Friday night.
Principal Tony Fowler was a finalist for the Secondary Principal of the Year category at the awards.
He said to win the leadership award was a great result for the school and its community.
"The night was a showcase of the very best in public education,'' he said.
"The award is recognition of the strategic efforts of a team of dedicated leaders.
"Moreover, it is recognition of a culture of high expectations of all learners.''
Mr Fowler highlighted the efforts of the school leadership team - Melissa Thompson, John Bish, Louise Dower-Amor, Julie Powell, Linley Arnold-Wardle, Jordanne Horn, Megan Harley, Heather Hall-Schulz and himself.
"Warracknabeal Secondary College is an amazing school with a truly dedicated and united staff,'' he said.
"The collaborative nature of our improvement strategies have established a culture of inquiry and reflection where feedback is constantly used to assess where we are at, where we are going, and how we will get there.''
Mr Fowler also won two awards last week.
