A HORSHAM man is behind bars following a fight that left another man with a serious injury.
Benjamin Smith, 26, was sentenced in Horsham Magistrate’s Court on Friday to a year’s imprisonment with a six-month non-parole period.
He faced charges including having intentionally caused injury, possession of a prohibited weapon, burglary, theft and several drug charges.
Smith was arrested on April 29 for allegedly having seriously injured another man’s hand during a fight at a Horsham house.
Police said the assailant punched his victim while holding a knife.
His victim, 28, had surgery to save one of his fingers.
