The Galleries on the Side project, which has featured as part of the festival in previous years, will see art placed in shop windows across the city.
Galleries on the Side organiser Marion Matthews said the project was about bringing together artists and Horsham retailers.
“It’s always great making art so accessible to people and putting local artwork out on the streets of Horsham,” she said.
“It’s really wonderful when we see a retailer incorporating what’s in their window with the art works.”
Matthews said the project would help bring the city alive during the festival.
“It brings people out on the street looking at the art in the windows,” she said.
“It’s like an oversized exhibition because you have to walk around the city to see it all.”
About 30 shop owners will join with artists working across a range of mediums including photography, painting and textiles.
“We have a few schools putting in work as well as individual artists, all exploring the theme of the festival – Layers of Time,” Matthews said.
Matthews’ work will be featured in Velvet Ark in Roberts Avenue.
Art will be displayed in shops for the duration of the Art is... festival, from May 30 to June 9.
