FIVE YEARS AGO

Horsham police believe drug raids on four Horsham properties will put a major dent in the trafficking of ecstasy, amphetamines and cannabis in the region. Police seized ecstasy, amphetamines, cannabis, money, a sawn-off .22 calibre rifle, a pill press and other drug-making equipment and arrested six men and one woman, aged between 19 and 33, as part of the raids.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The bottom line is it’s a saving for the company, it’s a disadvantage for the farmers and it’s a disadvantage for the roads.” - West Wimmera Mayor Ron Hawkins on the GrainCorp restructure plan.
