Horsham CFA captain Mathew Walsh said the cause of the blaze was unknown.
"The building is unusable," he said.
"The main classroom is burnt and the whole ceiling is burnt."
Horsham College acting principal Rob Pyers said staff had acted professionally to ensure the safety of all students.
"The Department of Education is swinging into gear at the moment and we'll look at what we need to do to ensure the students have got the facilities to suit their particular needs," he said.
"We should hopefully by the start of next week have them relocated."
The campus houses the school's Alternate Settings program for disengaged students.
"The program has one of the best track records in the state in terms of re-engagement of those students," Mr Pyers said.
"It's certainly one of things that will be vital to our future and we'll be looking to make sure it's repaired and back into swing as soon as possible."
