A MAN has been seriously injured and livestock destroyed after a semi-trailer rolled over at Halls Gap on Saturday.
Ararat police Sergeant Matthew Cashman said the driver of the truck was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital.
“The truck was carrying a load of sheep and it lost control and tipped over,” he said.
“The reason for that is being investigated.”
Sgt Cashman said there were about 250 sheep on the truck.
He said police and Ararat Rural City Council staff had to destroy some of the sheep during the clean up of the scene.
Grampians Road was closed and traffic diverted for more than 12 hours on Saturday.
The incident occurred about 11.30am.
