The women, who meet every second Friday at Spotlight Horsham, knitted blankets, scarves, beanies and toys for underprivileged Wimmera people.
Organiser Peta Atkins said the project had created much-needed warm winter items for people in need.
“Our main objective is to get the items to people who really need it,” she said.
“It’s great because we really wanted it to be community based and to stay in the community which was the whole idea behind it.”
Wimmera Uniting Care out of home worker Loucas Vettos said the knitted items would be distributed to people in their programs including foster care, disability, mental health and housing.
“Sometimes when people first come to us they don’t have anything,” he said.
“So something to give back to them to have as their own is really great, especially the fact it’s being donated by Horsham women and distributed locally.”
Spotlight Horsham supported the project by providing the first ball of wool and knitting needles to each woman.
Since then the women have donated their time, skills and equipment for the cause.
Mrs Atkins said the knitting group would continue to meet until at least the end of winter and welcomed anyone to join.
