Keith Fischer, 52, faced Horsham Magistrate's Court in relation to an explosion during the Grampians bushfire in January.
The Magistrates Court of Victoria describes the Criminal Justice Diversion Program as an opportunity for mainly first-time offenders to avoid a criminal record by undertaking conditions that benefit the offender, any victims and the broader community.
Fischer will return to court in November to ensure he has satisfactorily completed the program.
