Horsham Sergeant Leigh Creasey said the man was cycling into Horsham on the Wimmera Highway, near Horsham-Noradjuha Road, about 8.45am on Thursday.
“There was a motorist travelling in the same direction who drove up from behind, didn’t see the cyclist and clipped him with the mirror of the car, causing the cyclist to fall and injure himself,” he said.
“I believe he had minor injuries, but was conveyed to Wimmera Base Hospital.”
Police are investigating.
“It appears the rising sun might have caused the driver not to see the cyclist,” Sgt Creasey said.
“It does get bad there sometimes.”
