Berry collected 29 disposals and was named best on ground for Vic Country against South Australia at Metricon Stadium.
But it was South Australia who claimed a 7.23 (65) to 8.9 (57) win .
The Horsham Saints utility played off a half-back flank and collected 10 kicks and 19 handballs, plus eight tackles and eight rebound 50s.
Vic Country coach Paul Henriksen said it was an outstanding performance.
"He was a shining light throughout the whole night," he said.
"He's a very competitive individual and it stands out every time he takes to the footy field."
Henriksen said Hopetoun product Sam White went off the ground early after a head collision, but returned to play roles up forward and down back.
