The bureau warned there could be damaging winds on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning as a strengthening northerly flow crosses the state.
Northerly winds will increase to 45 to 60kmh late on Tuesday and will averaging up to 70kmh.
However winds could reach up to 100kmh over elevated areas of the region.
These winds will ease from the west on Wednesday morning.
The State Emergency Service has advised people to:
- move vehicles undercover and away from trees
- secure loose items around homes
- call SES on 132 500 if they need help
