Sedgman, 20, was one of 27 shooters named in Australia’s squad for the 51st ISSF World Championship.
She was the only Australian female selected in rifle events and has been named to compete in the 50m rifle prone category.
The championship will be in Granada, Spain, from September 6 to 20.
Sedgman’s event will start on September 14.
Her first priority, however, will be the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which are less than two weeks away.
Sedgman will look to defend the Commonwealth Games gold medal she won in the women’s 50-metre three position shoot as a 16-year-old in 2010.
