It comes after the Senate rejected legislation to repeal the tax on Thursday.
Mr Tehan said more legislation repealing the tax would be put before the Senate today.
"My strong hope, especially for regional and rural Australia, is that the Palmer United Party will finally vote to scrap the carbon tax," he said.
"Eventually Clive Palmer must do what he told the Australian people he would do, and that's get rid of it.
"It's time to stop playing games."
Mr Palmer's last-minute decision to vote against the legislation was largely credited with its defeat.
He withdrew his support after realising conditions for his co-operation were omitted from the bill.
Member for Mallee Andrew Broad slammed Mr Palmer for blocking the carbon tax repeal.
"I think the people of the Mallee saw it for what it was a guy who is an opportunist," he said.
It was the Federal Government's third attempt to repeal the tax, which was introduced by the former Labor government.
Mr Broad said some of Mr Palmer's suggestions would not have been feasible to introduce in the Senate.
He said proposals such as a 250 per cent penalty for companies that failed to pass on rebate savings would have to start in the House of Representatives.
Mr Broad does not support the carbon tax.
"The carbon tax has been a handbrake on the Australian economy and has not reduced emissions," he said.
"There are ways of increasing renewables and clean energy without it.
"I think it is pretty clear we need to get rid of it."
