Horsham Highway Patrol Senior Constable Cam Cooper said the pursuit started about 8.15pm on Tuesday.
"Police went to intercept a vehicle in Bennett Road," he said.
He said the driver tried to evade police, leading to a short pursuit through suburban streets including Rose Street, Lilac Street, Selkirk Drive and Wotonga Drive.
The driver pulled over and was arrested.
Sen Const Cooper said a Horsham man, 26, was bailed to Horsham Magistrate's Court in September.
Police are also awaiting the results of a drug driving test.
"We are seeking any witnesses that might have seen a small, dark-coloured SUV driving erratically in the area at the time," Sen Const Cooper said.
He said people could call Horsham Police Station on 03 5382 9200.
