Minister for Sport and Veterans Affairs Damian Drum officially opened the club's newest building and spoke at the reunion lunch.
Reunion committee spokesman and Hindmarsh Mayor Rob Gersch said it was a successful day.
"We had a good crowd for the opening with the minister and our women put on a nice spread of food for us," he said.
About 70 people attended the lunch, including 1964 and 1965 senior premiership coach Wes Richardson and 1969 senior premiership coach Kevin McNamee.
The new $140,000 centre, partly funded by a State Government grant, was opened before the lunch.
Nhill president John McLeod said the club, which hosted last year's Wimmera Football League grand final, had done a lot of work upgrading its facilities in 2014.
"We've had a pretty big year with the canteen and the umpires rooms and a few other things," he said.
The club has also installed a new $6000 public address system and painted its clubrooms.
Wimmera Football League chief commissioner Greg Schultz said Davis Park was now arguably the leading ground in the region.
"I would say with everything that has been done to the Nhill footy oval, it's the premier ground in the competition," he said.
"It's unbelievable what they've done up there with the support of the Hindmarsh council."
