Six club gymnasts competed at the Junior Victorian Championships at Maffra in late June.
In level three competition, Matthew Wouters won bronze on vault and was consistent across all six apparatuses to finish third overall.
Tomas Butler and Cameron Butler also enjoyed the challenge of tough competition, finishing 18th and 22nd overall respectively.
Jack Snowden was rewarded for consistent performance – winning silver on parallel bars – to finish third overall in level two competition.
Oliver Baum collected silver on both vault and pommel and finished sixth, while Luke Wouters achieved some personal bests to finish 11th.
Eight gymnasts also competed at a Warrnambool competition at the weekend.
Hailey Puls and Ryan Morrow both won their overall competitions.
Morrow, in his first competition for the year, placed first on rings, parallel bar and high bar, and second on vault, floor and pommel to win at national eight level.
Puls earnt second-placed finishes on vault and bars plus a third place on floor in level four.
Kayla Kelm placed first in level four vault, Chloe Payne on level seven vault and Brooke Payne on level nine vault.
Level eight gymnast Bridgett Powell went home with a second on vault, while Anesu Gororo finished third in level seven vault and Emma Rissman claimed third in level 10 floor.
Coach Lynette Morrow said the club’s next competitions were in Stawell, August 3, and Portland, August 9 to 10.
