Williams, 18, suffered eight-centimetre and five-centimetre splits in his liver in round one of the MX Nationals in March, which took more than three weeks to heal.
The Williams Full Tilt Racing rider is set to compete in the MX2 – Pro Lites class in round eight of the 10-round competition at Raymond Terrace, NSW.
Williams’ father, team manager and coach Merv Williams, said his son had been concentrating on local and state rounds to find his way back to fitness.
This included an eighth-place overall finish in the four-round Victorian Senior Motocross Championships A Lites section.
Williams said Jacob was working on putting the crash behind him and moving forward.
“I have been really worried about him, he hasn’t been himself,” Williams said.
“Racing is everything to Jacob and he was just frustrated with himself and his riding.
“I honestly thought he might give it up at one stage.”
Williams said his son was focused on this round of the nationals and preparing for the long-term.
“I’m excited to see him back in the seat,” he said.
“We have a lot of work to do for 2015 – the Pro Lites is another level altogether and this is a step in the right direction.”
Racing starts at 10.30am.
