Umpires: Wimmera Football League Umpires Group.
Last time they met: Round five, 2014. Edenhope-Apsley 16.15 (111) d Pimpinio 5.7 (37).
PIMPINIO could make a statement by dropping several senior players ahead of Saturday's game against Edenhope-Apsley at Apsley Recreation Reserve.
Tigers coach Mal Coutts made it clear the effort of some players in the team’s 231-point loss to Laharum at the weekend was not up to scratch.
He said the axe was likely to be wielded at the selection table.
Coutts said he hoped an improved attitude would see them replicate the competitive performance they produced against Edenhope-Apsley in round five.
“There might be three or four blokes not playing because of their attitude and preparation,” he said.
“We’ve nailed down a few things that haven’t been happening around the club and I’d like to see our attitude pick up again because when it does we’ll start being competitive.
"I take my hat off to the core blokes who keep turning up to training and want to see things get better, but unless we’re all on the same page it’s never going to happen.”
Edenhope-Apsley coach Grant Coxon said the team would use the game to sharpen up before the start of finals.
“The biggest thing we have to do is play the game the way we want to play it, because last time they didn’t let us get into our free running game,” he said.
“We have to get that ruthlessness into our game before the finals start.”
Forward Tom Clissold is likely to resume after a minor groin injury.
Sam McClure will play if he is not picked for the North Ballarat Rebels and Bart Nolan is edging closer to a return.
Coxon said Nolan could be back in the side if he trained well on Thursday.
