Former Horsham Apex members Rick Smith, Mick Harris and Brendan Kahn will join the Variety Bash - an annual driving adventure which raises money for Variety Children's Charity.
Mr Kahn said they hoped to raise $20,000.
"We take off from Horsham on August 13 and head to Melbourne. The following day we leave for Noosa," he said.
"It's a bit of a trek all through the mountains and we should get to Noosa on August 22."
Mr Kahn said they bought a 1977 HX Holden Statesman for the adventure.
"We've been talking about it for a few years so we decided to buy a car," he said.
"We've been doing it up and getting it ready.
"We plan to continue with the event over the next few years."
Mr Kahn said there was a fair bit of work involved in getting the car ready.
"We rebuilt the motor ourselves and a lot of work was done to the undercarriage," he said.
"We want to avoid any breakdowns.
"It's something that has had a lot of personal costs, but it's something we enjoy doing.
"We have all been involved in a lot of charity work over the years and this is just another venture in life."
The men hosted fundraisers at the Dooen Hotel at the weekend.
These included raffles and an auction of North Melbourne Football Club gear, among other products.
Mr Kahn said anyone who wanted to donate to the cause could call Mr Harris at the Dooen Hotel or Rick at Rick Smith Motors in Horsham.
