POLICE are investigating an incident from Saturday’s under-17 Pimpinio v Swifts match that left a Swifts player with a broken eye socket and broken cheek bone.

The player sustained fractures to his eye socket and cheek bone, and substantial soft tissue damage.
He was admitted to hospital in Stawell before being transferred to Ballarat, and will undergo surgery on Monday.
A Pimpinio player was red-carded and reported by field umpires.
Swifts president Robert Carey confirmed there had been an incident but declined to comment further.
Pimpinio president David O’Connor said he did not witness the incident, but was investigating the matter independently and talking to witnesses.
