WEATHER

Happy Friday! A sunny day is predicted with light winds. A max of 18 - that's practically a heatwave these days! Saturday brings 19 degrees and showers, and by Sunday we're back to 15 degrees and showers. Oh well, enjoy the sun while it lasts.

FIVE YEARS AGO

The Wimmera could be the centre of a modern-day gold rush. A three-year GeoScience Victoria report commissioned by the State Government claims more than 70 million ounces of gold is laying undiscovered in Victoria and more than half of it is in the Wimmera.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The students were so excited about dressing up that we had to have a practice dress-up day on Monday so they wouldn’t be overwhelmed on the day.” - Edenhope children dressed in 1850s costumes to mark the 150th anniversary of the Lost in the Bush story.
