A pet lamb loaned by the society’s junior vice-president Dalton Cross and his brother Dustin has been named after touring the countryside in a bid to find a name.
Mockinya’s Natalie Bolwell, 5, won a Facebook competition to name the mascot.
Society secretary Andrea Cross said Natalie chose to call the lamb Max, because she liked the Horsham Show ‘to the max’.
“It started out being just a bit of fun but the purpose of the mascot has grown significantly with the lamb now having his own Facebook page – Max the Mascot – for the show,” she said.
“This enables followers to see what Max gets up to most days.”
Natalie won a two-day family pass for two adults and four children valued at $55.
The Horsham Show will be on Tuesday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 1.
Another initiative for this year is a Guinness World Record attempt at the world’s biggest vanilla slice.
Horsham’s Oven Door Bakery team will attempt the record during the show on the Wednesday.
Mrs Cross said people could visit horshamshow.com.au or call her on 5381 1187 for more information on the show.
