The incident left Magee with a fractured cheekbone in three place.
Clough was banned for six weeks, with four weeks suspended until the end of 2016.
It means he will miss Saturday's qualifying final and the Saints' next final, which will be a semi-final or preliminary final next week.
Magee had surgery to repair the injury early last week.
Dimboola requested the league to investigate the incident.
Western Vic Football general manager Stephen McQueen said the investigation found Clough had a case to answer.
