March Australia is a co-ordinated event that coincided with other rallies across Australia.

Horsham rally guest speaker Carl Sudholz said the marches were to express concern about Federal Government policies relating to climate change, renewable energy, budget issues and deregulation of universities.

He said he was pleased with the number of people who attended the rally.

"There was an open mic session where people could get up and share their point of view," he said.

Mr Sudholz spoke about climate change issues at the event.

"Since 1950 the global temperate has risen by around 0.6 degrees it doesn't sound like much, but averages hide the reality," he said.

"From Nhill, at the airport, we get some of our region's most accurate data for rainfall and temperature.

"There since 1950, the average summer temperature has risen by 2.2 degrees."

Mr Sudholz also spoke about the government scrapping the carbon tax, the renewable energy target and Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
