Queale has returned from a cricket tour of England with the International Fellowship of Cricket Loving Rotarians.
“There were three teams from Australia,” Queale said.
“We played against Indians, Englishmen, South Africans, New Zealanders and Pakistanis – all Rotarians.
“We all had a pretty good time.”
Queale said his team wasn’t overly successful, but he had a good run personally, scoring 48 runs from three hits and only being dismissed once.
“I was very pleased with my form considering I’m 74,” he said.
“I hadn’t played since about April.”
The former Laharum cricketer – who had toured the UK previously and has also toured New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa – said it had been a worthwhile experience on and off the field.
“During the festival we raised a lot of money for Rotary charities in and around Nottingham that dealt particularly with helping disadvantaged young people,” he said.
“I think it was in the vicinity of 10,000 pounds.
“I have loved cricket all my life and I’m grateful I’ve had the opportunities to experience what I have.”
Queale said next on his agenda was playing at the Australian over-70s carnival later this year, alongside fellow Wimmera cricketer Dennis Wade, who he said would play in the over-60s.
