Kalkee and Harrow-Balmoral, clearly the best two teams in the league, will meet on Saturday to decide once and for all which is the superior side.
Both lost only once during the year – to each other.
Kalkee beat Harrow-Balmoral by a solitary goal in round three before the Roos got their revenge in a 36-32 victory in round 14.
The Kees claimed the minor premiership because of slightly higher percentage and downed the Roos by seven goals in the second semi-final to advance.
Now Harrow-Balmoral wants revenge.
Roos coach Jane Bowles said Saturday's game would come down to desire.
“When we met them last time they were the better team on the day,” she said.
“We’re all fit and ready to go and we want it a lot more this time. There are no more second chances – this is it.”
Kalkee’s line-up includes newly-crowned C Grade best and fairest Shana Miatke, who is battling to be fit for the game with a knee injury.
Miatke’s ability to play on dangerous Harrow-Balmoral goalie Lisa Burns could affect the final result.
Kalkee coach Melissa Beddison said it would be a great game.
“Our team is lucky in that we’ve got a lot of girls with finals experience, so hopefully our experience and fitness gets us over the line,” she said.
