Students from foundation to year seven spent the morning with their grandparents in classes. Some classes then hosted an informal concert.
Grade three students performed a musical ensemble, while foundation students danced the Hokey Pokey with their grandparents and parents.
Office administrator Sue Starbuck said the school’s annual grandparents day allowed grandparents to see what their grandchildren had achieved at school.
“Some grandparents don’t get to schools to see their little ones and so we open the school up for grandparents to have a look at what the students do,” she said.
The school’s annual book fair coincided with grandparents day.
Foundation student James Rodda said his favourite part of the day involved making art with his grandparents David and Jenny Furniss.
“My favourite part was when I brought them into the book fair and when they came into my classroom and we made a paper quilt,” he said.
Foundation student Abbey O’Connor’s favourite part of the day was showing her grandmother Cris Semmler around the playground.
“The best part was showing her the flying fox,” she said.
