Max's Track is in memory of the grade five student, who died one day short of his 11th birthday in May.
The school's parents and friends committee decided a track would be a fitting memorial for Max, who loved running.
Committee president Robyn Pike said committee members, businesses and volunteers helped create the memorial.
The track stretches around the playground and includes play equipment along the way.
Mrs Pike said the project was completed during two working bees.
She said about 30 people helped it come together, with many others supporting fundraisers such as a Father's Day raffle.
"It's been a wonderful effort from the whole school community,'' she said.
She said past school families had also offered support.
Principal Chris Walter said Horsham Concrete, Locks Constructions, Wimmera Aquatrail and Wayne Hobbs of Wimmera Home Handyman Services all donated time and services during the project.
"It's pretty amazing to see how everyone has come together,'' he said.
Mr Walter said Max's parents Cathie and Tony were overwhelmed by the support and efforts people had contributed.
"It's a really fitting tribute for Max,'' he said.
"He loved school and he loved being here.''
Mr Walter encouraged anyone who knew Max to be part of the memorial on Friday at 12.50pm.
He thanked everyone who worked on the track.
